Converse Screened Reverse
(1969 - 1977)
With the Patent expired and competition vying for the NHL contract, Converse reduced the cost of their pucks by replacing the rubberized reverse logos with screened logos. Viceroy got a foothold in the NHL market when they landed the three Canadian teams in 1973. Converse hung on to the US based teams until 1977 when the company caved in to competition and ceased operations. The innovations found in the Art Ross puck were now widely copied in all makes of hockey pucks. These pucks can also be found with blank back as apparent unfinished product. In addition to the team pucks, a puck has been found issued for the Broadmoor Arena and these can be considered Colorado Rockie practice pucks..
